About Us

Have you ever heard the saying "you don't know what you don't know"? I was that guy who bought his coffee at the grocery store. It was easy to pick up while I was getting other groceries, and life was good. My three kids (who were in their twenties at the time) started picking on me about my choice of coffee. At the time, I drank one of the big-name brand coffees in any grocery store. My kids said I didn't know good coffee and how I could drink such stuff. For quite some time, I didn't listen to them. One day, I set out to prove them wrong that there was no difference between the coffee I was drinking and other coffee. It didn't help that two of the three were baristas; the other traveled the world and drank coffee wherever he went. The challenge was high, but I was determined. I began researching "commercial coffee" and "specialty coffee." I learned about how coffee was grown, processed, and roasted. I ordered some coffee to see the difference, and I agreed. It was good, but I didn't know the difference until I used all the beans, returned to the grocery, and got my old brand. Little did I know I just got schooled. It was horrible! I didn't even want to finish the container.I began drinking specialty-grade coffee from all over the world, wanting to experience the different flavors each one brings. More people needed to go on the same journey to drink a fantastic cup of coffee. My new passion for coffee, my wife's, and my love for the coast created Much Needed Joe. Make sure you subscribe to the newsletter and monthly coffee subscription to get your coffee delivered to your home so you don't run out, and I'll help you through your day with a cup of Much Needed Joe.

Grind & Brewing Instructions

TO ENSURE A GREAT CUP OF COFFEE

Grinding & Brewing Instructions

Coffee/French Press: Coarse Grind
Drip Coffee: Medium Grind
Espresso: Fine Grind

The finer the grind, the stronger the coffee.

• Grind beans just before brewing
• Always start with fresh, filtered water
• Use 2 tbsp. ground coffee to 6 fl. oz. water
• Adjust measurement to taste

Serving & Storage

If you are using a French Press, we recommend grinding to a coarse setting.

To intensify the flavor, grind our coffee to a finer grind.

We do not recommend storing coffee in the refrigerator or freezer, as this damages the taste profile. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to preserve flavor and aroma.
